The Elisabeth Steel Reurink Memorial Student Success Initiative is a Not-for-Profit established in April 2010 in memory of Elisabeth Steel Reurink, a 17 year old student at Catholic Central High School, who was killed in a tragic skiing accident while on a school trip to Blue Mountain.
The objects for which the corporation was incorporated are:
1. Establishing and granting prizes, awards, and distinctions promoting a high standard of education, development, and good
citizenship;
2. Arranging athletic events and competitions fostering goodwill and sportsmanship;
3. Uniting persons interested in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship, and mutual understanding;
And such other complementary purposes not inconsistent with these objects.
There are 8 members on the Board of Directors. There are 12 members on the organizing committee for Elisabeth’s Annual Memorial Run, the corporation’s main fundraiser to support the 5 scholarships established in her name. All members are volunteers. There are no paid employees.
All monies raised go towards Elisabeth’s 5 scholarships, supporting student centred activities on an as needed basis, and operating expenses.
If you would like more information or would like to volunteer, please contact us directly.
