Scholarships

The first “Children of the Light” Scholarship in Elisabeth’s honour was established by her fellow students with the support of her family and friends in June 2009. Since the establishment of her first scholarship support has been wonderful and we are now funding the following 5 scholarships for students who exhibit kindness, community involvement, commitment to personal excellence, academic achievement and integrity, all hallmark’s of Elisabeth Steel Reurink’s all too short life:

 

The “Elisabeth Steel Reurink Children of the Light Memorial Award Scholarship”


A system-wide scholarship open to graduating students in
London District Catholic School Board through the Monsignor Feeney Foundation.
$1000.00 annually to one deserving LDCSB student.

The “Elisabeth Steel Reurink Children of the Light Memorial Award Scholarship”


A system-wide scholarship open to graduating students in
Thames Valley District School Board through the Thames Valley Education Foundation.
$1000.00 annually to one deserving TVDSB student.

The “Elisabeth Steel Reurink Memorial Award”


Open to Western University students working with
The Centre for Research and Education on Violence Against Women and Children,
Faculty of Education.
$1000.00 annually to one deserving UWO student.

The “Elisabeth Steel Reurink Memorial Peace Ambassador Awards”


Open to one Grade 11 student from London District Catholic School Board and one Grade 11 student from Thames Valley District School Board through the London Anti-Bullying Coalition.


$500 each, plus $250 annually to each recipient’s school (TVDSB and LDCDB) to establish a student-led anti-bullying initiative.
